The department of CSE, in association with Machine Intelligence and Data Analytics Research Centre (MIDARC) inaugurated IBM NVIDIA Deep Learning Centre on 5 August 2019. Mr Viswanath Ramaswamy, Director- Systems Technology Group, IBM graced the occasion as the chief guest. Interacting with the team, he emphasised the applications of Deep learning and its importance. Mr. Selvendran, General Manager, South and Srilanka - IBM was also seen at the inauguration. The IBM NVIDIA Deep Learning Centre functioning on IBM Minsky server with 2 NVidia P100 GPU and NVlink Technology, and 16 GB RAM i7 computers is intended exclusively for the faculty, research scholars and students to work on projects in areas as diverse as neuroscience, biomedical informatics, drug discovery, speech recognition, language processing, computer vision, recommender systems, learning theory, robotics and games.
