The Centre of Automation & Robotics (ANRO) established Motion Control Laboratory and Human Machine Interaction Laboratory to support the academic activities of Mechatronics and Robotics Programme and to carry out focused research on Advanced Robotic Technology. The labs were inaugurated by Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, Secretary, Department of Defence R & D & Chairman, DRDO, New Delhi on 11 Jan. 2021.
Facilities in the Motion Control Laboratory include Gantry Robot for ultrasonic sea scan application and equipment related to uniaxis and multiaxis motion control system. The laboratory establishment was supported by SEW-EURODRIVE India Private Limited, Chennai. Human Machine Interaction Laboratory houses Head Mount Displays for Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality Tool Kits and Motion Sensors. Students/ researchers will investigate various novel interaction mechanisms to enable human machine cooperation.
