The Centre for Networking and Cyber Defense, School of Computing Sciences, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science organized HITSATHON V3.0, a National Hackathon event on 31 August and 1 September 2019 in association with Manya - The Princeton Review, QS Techno Solutions, Webpika, Yamaha, Averzs Technology, Hindustan Rotaract Club, and Clothgram. HITSATHON V3.0 drew around 360 students from 20 institutions across India to engage in a collaborative computer programming and produce several usable software and hardware products benefitting society. The prize money of HITSATHON V3.0 was announced by Dr. Ashok G. Verghese, Director, HITS as Rs.50000. He also informed that HITSATHON will be an online and on spot mode event from the successive years onwards. Rules of the contest along with summary of amenities the teams could use were briefed. Participants kick started work in high spirits as the one-day timer was set and completed exactly the same time next day. Mr. Amuthan, Atal Mentor for India; Dr. Rajeshwari Mukesh, Head-Computing Sciences, HITS; Mr. Vishwanathan, HTBI, HITS; and Mr. Ashwin from Manya - the Princeton Review adjudged each team through a three-minute pitching. HITSATHON V3.0 also saw Mr. S. Naveen, final year B. Tech. IT, Kruptos Security Club and Developer Student Club Coordinator delivering a session on “How to Pitch;” and stalls set by students as well as sponsors including Manya - The Princeton Review, Yamaha bike display and Qs Techno solutions attracting a lot of visitors to test the products.
