Times Higher Education Impact Rankings assesses universities based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); doing so, it provides a unique opportunity for universities to showcase their activities that contribute towards building a more sustainable and equitable society. Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) emerged as one of the top Private Universities in India in the third edition of THE Impact Rankings 2022 and have qualified out of 1406 institutions from 94 countries and regions across the globe in this rigorous international evaluation platform. The institution participated in four Sustainable Development Goals based on its forte andattained an overall rank of 400-600. It has performed exceedingly well in SDG6 (Rank 101-200 - Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Rank 401-600 - Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Rank 33 - Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG17 (Rank 401-600 - Partnership forGoals in Education).
The ranks achievedby HITS indicate its vision towards attaining sustainable development goals in line with United Nations SDG, and its contribution as ahigher education institution. HITS has been consistent in SDG rankings and this year there is a phenomenal rise in the rankings in SDG 12.The Ranking team of HITS led by Dr. Akkara Sherine, Head Languages & Rankings meticulously worked towards THE Impact Rankings process, based on the best practices adopted by HITS in line with the UN sustainable goals.HITS not only works towards bringing together brightest minds but also towards creating a healthier, sustainable and brighter world contributing scrupulously with commitment for the betterment of the society.
