Hits At The Forefront Of The Impact Rankings 2020

Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science participated in the global Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2020. The results were announced on 22 April 2020 during the Innovation and Impact Virtual Mini summit chaired by Phil Baty, Chief Knowledge Officer, THE. The awards presentation was held during a prestigious digital event held from Times Higher Education, Head Quarters in London & was attended by more than 500 University leaders from across the world.

THE declares HITS as the top 10 Indian Universities and achieves overall rank 201-300 amongst 800 Universities across the globe.

Times Higher Education Impact Rankings assess the universities based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), it provides a unique opportunity for universities to showcase their activities that contribute towards building a more sustainable and equitable society 800 universities and 85 countries and regions across the globe were in the fray for the reputed global rankings. HITS emerges as the top Private University in India in THE Rankings and is one of the few private universities to have qualified in this rigorous international evaluation platform. The institution participated in four Sustainable Development Goals based on its forte and has done exceedingly well in SDG6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and SDG17, (Partnership for Goals)

HITS Secures 18th Rank in the SDG6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and is the sole University in India to Achieve the Highest Rank in SDG6

RANKINGS OF HITS IN THE SDG ACROSS THE GLOBE

• SDG6 - 18th position and the top university in SDG6 from India. The success in SDG6 is attributed to a full score of 100 in water usage and care and 91.7 marks awarded to the category water in the community.
• SDG 7 - 57 th Rank in Affordable and Clean Energy and metric scores of 100 in Energy University Measures, and 91.7 in Energy and the community.
• SDG12 - 95th Rank in Responsible Consumption and Production and scored 100 in sustainability report publication and 97.8 in operational measures.
• SDG17- 401-600 in Partnership for Goals with a high score of 91.1 in Education for the SDGs parameter that indicates the vision of the institution towards sustainable development goals in line with United Nations SDG and its contribution as Higher Education Institution

The Rankings team of the institution, encouraged by Dr. Ashok G. Verghese, Director HITS worked with dedication and compiled scrupulously the data and worked towards THE Impact rankings process, based on the best practices adopted by the institution in line with the UN sustainable goals and achieved overall rank of 201-300 among all 800 universities across the globe.

This increasing credibility and statistics shown by Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science in THE Impact Rankings reflects the aim of the institution moving towards to achieve the rank as the Powerhouse institution across the Globe contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals.
