The National Hindi Day - Hindi Diwas was organized by the Department of Languages in association with Dr. KCG Verghese, HELM (Higher Education Leadership Management) Center on 14 September 2023. The chief guest for the celebration was Dr.R.Gopalakrishnan, Head, Department of Hindi, Presidency College, Chennai. In his address, he discussed about the importance and scope of learning Hindi Language. He also motivated the audience through interactive activities by highlighting the similar words of Hindi with Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The program started with the prayer song by I Year B.Tech. students. Dr.Sonu Joseph, Head, Department of Languages welcomed the Chief Guest and the gathering by giving the brief introduction about the purpose of Hindi Day Celebration and motivated the students to learn with interest. Dr.Marceline Pushpa, Head, SLAAS in her presidential address emphasized the importance of learning multi languages and encouraged them to enhance their language proficiency.. Ms.B.Poongodi, AP in Hindi briefed about the online Hindi Contest organized on Hindi Day. Poem Recitation, Story Writing and Poster Making online competitions were conducted based on the theme “My fun ride with Chandrayan”. 50 students from 13 Institutions had participated and exhibited their creative talents. The winners were appreciated with the certificate and prizes.
