Guest Lecture On, “How To Be An Author And Publish A Book”
The event “How to be an author and Publish a book” was organized by the Department of Languages and ELTAI Kancheepuram Chapter on 7 December 2022. The resource person for the lecture was DTM Manju K Manohar, a District Toast Master, TEDx Coach, multi award winning author, an entrepreneur and also a success coach. Through her presentation, Ms. Manju highlighted the various aspects involved in publishing a book and the step-by-step plan on the methodology employed by the writers to publish a book. Based on the current FIFA world Cup, she made the participants draft an outline of a prospective book based on the info provided by her. The insight provided on what to write; dealing with fiction and non-fiction;steps involved in writing and publishing; marketing and the plan to succeed as an author. The resource person alsoconducteda quiz on popular literary figures. Then the students were divided into two groups and were asked to choose a name and slogan for their own teams. Team one was entitled Hindustan Falcons and the other team was called Educated Indians.
Dr. A. Sherine Joy, HOD Languages & Ranking and President ELTAI Kancheepuram Chapter, HITS, welcomed the Chief Guest DTM Manju K Manohar and the audience. She also introduced the resource person to the participants. Ms. Manju is a District Toast Master, TEDx Coach, multi-award winning author, an entrepreneur and also a success coach. She is also a certified NLP Practitioner, a former MNC Manager, and a coach trained by the former coach of Steve Jobs, John Mattone. She had served as the Director of Social services, at RCN(Chennai) Rotary International.
The staff members of the Department:Dr.Prem Shankar Pandey, Dr. Marie Evangeline, and Mr. Ben J. Milton were honoured and applauded for their book publications. The event concluded with the vote of thanks rendered by Dr.Prem Shankar Pandey. Mr. Ben J. Milton organized the event on behalf of the Department of Languages.
