A "Freedom Walk" commemorating the 75th Independence Day was organised by the Office of Student Affairs on 11 August 2021. Beginning from the Main Gate, the walk intended to reach Founder's Block through Administrative Block, Edison Block, MGR Auditorium, and Jubilee Block at the campus. Vice Chancellor, Dr. S. N. Sridhara led the "Freedom Walk". Dean E&T., Dr. Angelina Geetha; Head, EEE, Dr. A. K. Parvathy; Chief Coordinator of Accreditations and Rankings, Dr. T. Sudalai Muthu; faculty members, non-teaching staff and students participated enthusiastically.
Dr. S.N. Sridhara expressed, "Patriotism is the basic need for development of a nation”. He congratulated the Office of Student Affairs for continuously organising events to motivate students for national development'. Head - Student Affairs elaborated the week long events planned to commemorate the 75th Independence Day. He said that the Freedom Walk is to walk collectively to get the patriotic feeling which is not only symbolic but also practically promotes the "We feeling". Mr. Adarsh Vijayan Pillai, Officer of Student Affairs proposed the vote of thanks.
