International Mother Language Day is observed every year to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, and multilingualism. As a part of this year’s International Mother Language Day celebration, the Music Club students of HITS participated in “Folklore 2022 - Symphony of the World” Season 2 organised by American International University, Bangladesh (AIUB). The event was conducted on a virtual platform (Zoom) on 21 February 2022. Over 100 incredible students’ performances from 19 esteemed institutions across 9 different countries exhibited a grand display of tradition and talent through songs, dances, recitals, and folklores. Students who had performed virtually felt a testament to the idea that diversity doesn't divide, but only unites. A total of 14 students represented Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science in the Folklore 2022. The Vice Chancellor of AIUB, Dr. Carmen Z. Lamagna, and the Organizing Committee thanked HITS for being a part of "Folklore 2021 - Symphony of the World".
Musical Performances:
Performance 1 – “Chaudhary – Amit Trivedi Feat Mame Khan, Rajasthani Folk” depicts the return of a man to his hometown and the nostalgic connections he makes.
Performance 2 – “Balam Pichkari - Yeh Jawaani Hai”, a popular song sung during Holi festival celebrating the festival colours of colours and friendship.
