FIESTA '23

Fiesta ’23 – the fresher’s day for the freshmen of the School of Engineering and Technology was celebrated on 14 October 2023. The celebration aimed to showcase the talents of the budding engineers. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. S. Thirumagan, Principal, Hindustan College of Arts and Science.

The Chief Guest began his speech with his greetings to the students and thanked the Management for inviting him to the campus. He conducted a general knowledge quiz for the student audience. Dr. Thirumagan also shared his experience during his college days. He urged the students to utilize the facilities and opportunities offered by the college in order to be successful in life.

In his presidential address, Dr. S. N. Sridhara, Vice Chancellor encouraged the students to utilize their energy for their own development and thereby bring out the best in themselves. Dr. Muthukumar Subramanian, Registrar, in his felicitation address conveyed his wishes to the freshmen and said that they have made the right choice of joining HITS for their higher education.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Angelina Geetha, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology. The freshmen witnessed an inspiring video presentation on the Founder Chairman (Late) Dr. K. C. G. Verghese. The opening prayer was offered by Rev. Justin Jose, Student Chaplain. Ms. Beena James, Head – Students Affairs presented the introduction of the Chief Guest. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. K.S. Shaji Dean of Student Affairs.

The first-year students were entertained with various cultural programmes like Songs, Classical Dance, Fusion Dance, Martial Arts, and Fashion Ramp Walk. The cultural session of Fiesta ’23 was a gateway to identify the new talents on campus.
