FIESTA 2018 (Fresher’s Day) is an event which every student eagerly awaits as they enter college studies. The 25th and 26th of October 2018 marked the 2018-19 batch students’ day with excitement and fun as they celebrated FIESTA 2018. The Fresher’s day began playing a documentary of Dr. K.C.G. Verghese. Dr. T. Manvel Raj, Dean Student Affairs welcomed the gathering. Dr. Pon Ramalingam, Registrar, introduced students to the norms of college and emphasized on maintaining a ‘never-give up’ attitude that leads to success. N. Vasudevan, Dean Academics, gave a quick outline on the vitality of academic records that would take an individual to higher levels in life.

Mr. Mathi Ezhil Arasu, Vice President – Clear Steps, Principal Consultant, Trainer & Quality Advisor, Chennai and also a notable Alumni of Hindustan Family & Vice President of HITSAA was the Chief Guest for the event. In his address, Mr. Mathi Ezhil Arasu drew comparison between Engineering education before 25 years and the present system. Mr. Premanand Sivalingam, Dy. Director – National Career Services, Ministry of Labour and Employment, Govt. of India, CII – Model Centre, Chennai. Vice President – Clear Steps, Principal Consultant, Trainer & Quality Advisor, Chennai was the Special Guest. Mr. Sivalingam briefed on the career paths available for students and how to focus themselves towards it.

Mr. Karthik Thirunarayanan, Director, ORACLE Solutions Engineering, Chennai was the Chief Guest of the event. Mr. Thirunarayanan was astounded to see the exuberant students who were keen on grasping the key points of the day. In his address, he elaborated on developing one’s soft skills while giving equal importance to technical aspects of education. Further, he briefed on the wide range of options that can be approached if someone desires to pursue higher studies.
Both FIESTA 2018 For Engineering and Architecture and FIESTA 2018 For Liberal Arts and Science had Cultural events starting with dance, mime, and musical performances by the various Freshers’ teams of. The auditorium was reverberated with the echoes of the music and filled the air with joy. Dr. A. Ramesh Babu, Head of Science & Humanities Department extended his wishes to the students and insisted on abiding to disciplinary codes all through life.
