Feeding The Needy
Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science in association with Y’s Men International, organised food distribution to the underprivileged – “FEEDING THE NEEDY”. This initiative was executed as a part of Chancellor’s Day Celebration. The staff and students of HITS were a part of this noble cause. They distributed over 1600 packages to the needy across Irular Community – Vengadamangalam, Thiruporur & Kunnapattu, Childrens Home – Koothavakkam, Senai Trust for the Disabled- Kandigai, Vasantham Charitable Trust – Rathinamangalam and Arul Illam – Kolappakkam.
The Food Trucks were flagged off from the Campus at 11:30 a.m.by Dr.Pon Ramalingam, Registrar, HITS after the invocation prayer by Rev.Justin Jose, Student Chaplain, HITS.The Food Distribution at Thiruporur was inaugurated by Dr.S.N Sridhara, Vice Chancellor, HITS and Gp.Capt.Shibu Babu, Chief Admin Officer, HITS. The Food Distribution at Irular Community, Vengadamangalam was inaugurated by Dr.Pon Ramalingam, Registrar, HITS.
