Hindustan Aero Club of School of Aeronautical Sciences, HITS organized “Throw Glider Competition” and guest lecture to commemorate 87th birthday of Late. Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India. The event was organized in association with Aeronautical Society of India, Chennai Branch on 15th October 2018. Mr. M. Manikandan, Head-India, Supplier Quality & Zero Defects, Supply Chain, Rolls-Royce, the guest, drew reminiscences of Dr. A.P.J. in his address. On interacting with students, he asserted on developing professional traits and establishing industry relationships to foster training.
With large representations from first years, a total of 120 students participated in the “Throw Glider Competition”. All prizes were won by 1st year Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering teams. Mr. Rohith Raghavan, Mr. Chahath Chaudry, and Mr. Omkar kumar bagged 1st Prize. While Mr. Amanveer Gadiya, Mr. Deepak Sogasu, and Mr. Kshitij R Patil got 2nd Prize; Mr. Sheyal Thomas, Mr. Tinu.J.Pooppally, and Mr. Simpson Kurian secured 3rd Prize. .
