A project titled "Development of Autonomous Heterogeneous Robotic Swarm Simulator for Faster Disaster Reconnaissance and Mitigation"submitted to Royal Academy of Engineering, UK under – TSP (Transforming systems through partnership) India scheme is awarded research grant of Rs 53.67 Lakh for a period of 2 years. This project will be developed by Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science in collaboration with University of Leicester, UK and industries M/s Menzel Vision & Robotics Pvt. Ltd., and M/s Yagen Robotics, India. The project team from HITS comprises of Dr. RM. Kuppan Chetty, Dr. M M Ramya and Ms. N. Seenu. The main focus of the project will be to develop collaborative robotics search and rescue methodology that provides a cost-effective disaster management plan and also provide a smooth and stable operations of such systems. As part of this project, a simulator will also be developed to provide the disaster management team the necessary skills and training to operate robotic tools in unforeseen disaster situations.
