Chancellors Trophy

The Directorate of Sports, Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science has successfully conducted Chancellor’s Trophy - T10 Corporate Cricket Championship 2024 on 10, 17, 18, 24, and 25 of February 2024 at Kapil Dev Cricket Ground, Bay Range Campus. The tournament hosted 16 teams representing various corporates across Chennai.
The tournament was inaugurated on 10 February 2024 by Mr. S. Harish Kumar, Tamil Nadu Ranji Cricketer, and TNPL – Chepauk Super Gillies player in the presence of Dr. K. S. Shaji, Dean of Students Affairs, Mr. Abraham Varghese, Sports Advisor, Dr. David J. Mathew, Dean of Sports, and Dr. B. Selvamuthu Krishnan, Professor and Head PED. Also, renowned cricketers as well as the alumni like: Mr. Varun Narendar, Head of Operations at A-Z Sports Lens LLP, Former TNPL Player; and the Mr. Vishal Vaidhya, an esteemed Tamil Nadu State Cricketer and TNPL Player were hosted during the tournament. The valedictory event was held on 25 February 2024 with Mr. K. Barathan, Former Ranji Cricketer - Indian Railways, Former BCCI & IPL Umpire as Chief Guest, and Mr. Samson Suresh, Director Rayar Group of Companies and a alumnus of HITS was the Guest of Honour. The coveted Chancellor’s Trophy was won by the team represented the Daily Thanthi Group. The first runner-up was won by Sidharth Foundations and Housing. The second and third runners-up were Hindustan Group of Institutions and Everrenew Energy Private Limited respectively.
