The Leaders from Boeing visited the campus on the 23 February 2024. The team addressed the students of Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering and Aviation Management on various topics. The sessions were interactive and educating for the student participants.
Mr Srinivasan Ramanathan, Senior Manager, Tech Data Engineering Boeing presented a video about Boeing and shared the various avenues and technologies of Boeing India Engineering. Mr. Ekambaram T R Krishnan delivered a Technical Talk on “Structural Thermoplastic Composites”. He threw lights on the Structural Thermoplastic Composites Properties, Advantages and Applications, key aspects of Thermoset Composites and Thermoplastic Composites, Stress analysis consideration of thermoset conversion to thermoplastic - generic approach. He has also answered questions on design and analysis as well as on manufacturing Mr. Srinivasan KB, Payloads & Structures Engineer, BGS Engineering, Boeing delivered a talk on “Interiors Design for Commercial Airplanes” He described about process of aircraft interior design, Payload development, Evolution of interiors as per demands and General introduction on the complete design of interior aspects.
The program also hosted a panel discussion on “Future Technologies in Knowledge Management for Aerospace Industry”. The panel members were Mr Nadesan, Maheswaran N, Senior Manager, Tech Solutions, Mr Pariath, Venkata Babu S, Senior Manager, Tech Data Engineering, Mr Kaur, Harmeet, Senior Manager, Manufacturing Engineering, Dr. S. N Sridhara (Vice Chancellor, HITS) and Dr. R Asokan (Dean, Aero HITS). The panel moderated by Mr Srinivasan, Ramanathan, Senior Manager, Tech Data Engineering Boeing. The discussion dwelled on key areas like AI/ML in the aerospace industry and university, regulatory management, digital twining concept in aircraft maintenance and design and the role of educational institutions on innovations in aircraft industry.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Ms Kavitha Vijayaraghavan, Head Training and Placement.
