AICTE Sponsored 12-Day STTP on “Advanced Antenna & RF Technologies for 5G & IoT”
An AICTE sponsored 12-day Online Short-Term Training Programme on “Advanced Antenna and RF Technologies for 5G and IOT” was conducted in two phases: Phase 1 between 17 August 2020 and 22 August 2020; and, Phase 2 between 14 and 19 September 2020. Mr. Suresh Gulati, Manager-GB, Airtel, New Delhi & Alumnus B.E ECE (2005) presided the function as Guest of Honour.
During Phase 1, Dr. P. Hanumantha Rao, Scientist-F & Head, Microwave Communication & Antenna Division, SAMEER-CEM, Chennai gave a motivating talk regarding the 5G new radio systems and about the Government 5G project which he is currently associated with. His Technical talk on the antenna arrays for 5G deployment, dealt with detailed description of the 5G test beds and its scope of development in the field. The Phase 2 of the programme observed Mr. Giridharan, Principal Design Engineer, Urjitha Electronics, Chennai talk on RF solutions in 5G infrastructure. He emphasized on the technologies required for 5G deployment and the scope of research in this field. Participants hailing across the nation comprised consisting of Research Scholars, Faculty, Post Doctorates and Industrialists.
