On the occasion of Aerospace Day Celebration, the School of Aeronautical Sciences, in association with the Centre for Autonomous Systems, organized a one-day technical competition with HITS SAEINDIA Aero Cluband a Seminar on “Space 2.0 Accelerated Expansion and Role of Academia” by Dr. Venkatkrishnan, Scientist and Director, Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), ISRO on 8 January2022.
Space Exploration Challenge (SEC)
The SEC Challenge competition is about the various challenges faced during the exploration of space, including gravity’s drag, space debris attack, solar storms, and other adverse conditions like secondary radiation. The participating teams have to come up with an innovative solution to these kinds of problems and have to showcase the proof of concept of their solution. 17 teams comprising 4 members each competed on themes such as, “Identifying and Overcoming Space Debris”, “Design of a Space Suit to Protect Against Secondary Radiation”, “Space Agriculture”, and “Mars Colonization”.
Space Quiz
Organised in association with Nebula Astro Club, the quiz intended to create an awareness of aerospace industry and enabled students across India to celebrate the pride of being an aeronautical engineer. A total of 114 students from 14 different institutions participated.
