WORLD FOOD DAY 2021 | Event Date: Monday, 22nd, November 2021

The Department of Food Technologyorganized an online webinar session on “Food Product Development and Capacity Building for Budding Entrepreneurs”, via MS Teams with 78 participants on 22 November 2021.Dr. S. A. O. Adeyeye Samuel, Associate Professor, Food Technology welcomed the gathering.The lecture, delivered by Ms. S. Dhanupriya, Food Tech Business Consultant at Dpro Food Consult, Chennai; revolved around Food Product Development, Stage Gated Process, Market Trends and Insights and Building Capacity. Statistical evidences were shown along with the practical analysis of various food trends in the present-day markets, which indeed stimulated the audience. She stressed on the role played by both Science and Arts; in developing a food product and also on how one should be creative, innovative and technically sound too, in order to remake or invent a food product. She ended on a motivating note, highlighting on how one should be ‘methodical’ to sustain his/her firm and also encouraging ‘break-through’ inventions. The speaker was darted with well-prepared, interesting questions; during the Question and Answer session, at the end of her lecture.
