The University Day'21 of Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) held on 22 July2021, adhering to Covid'19 protocols, was a remarkable successwith an overwhelming response from the audience. Mr. Rahul Nadh I.A.S., Collector of Chengalpattu District presided as the Chief Guest. Mr. Sekaran Letchumanan, Vice President (Operations) of Flextronics, was the Guest of Honour. R.W. Alexander Jesudasan, Pro Vice Chancellor, HITS welcomed the gathering. He emphasized that the University Day is the culmination of the students' stint in the University. Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson, Hindustan Group of Institutions presided over the function and delivered her presidential address. Directors Dr. Aby Sam and Dr. Ashok G. Verghese offered felicitations.
In his address, Mr. Rahul Nadh exhorted the students to study with joy. He drew reminiscences of his last bench classroom experiences which later turned into a raging fire of passion and determined willpower. He awed at the efforts Hindustan takes towards preparing individuals with futuristic goals and wished students the very best to excel in their desired career. Dr. S.N. Sridhara, Vice Chancellor, HITS presented the Annual Report for the academic year 20-21. The report was packed with several achievements right from HITS breaking the world record of conducting maximum number of online classes, winning patents, publishing papers, securing projects, to recognising staff with more than 25 years of service and students shining in all fields. He appreciated the student achievements in GRE, GATE, Hackathons, International and National Competitions. University Day also observed an exchange of MoU between Flextronics and HITS, Release of Campus Talk, an annual newsletter, launching of CODE (Centre for Online & Open Digital Education) Website, planting of saplings and felicitation of HITS Alumni Association President Er. B N. Kamal during the University Day. More than 270 Rank Holders and 86 Special Prize winners were recognized. Dr. Pon Ramalingam, Registrar, HITS coordinated the event. Dr. A. Prabaharan, Head - Student Affairs and Convenor of University Day'21 proposed vote of thanks.
