TENTH INTERNATIONAL PATENT | Event Date: Wednesday, 16th, June 2021

An Innovation Patent on “A Convolutional Neural Network-Based Sustainable Method for Classification of Endometriosis Laparoscopic Images” has been granted by the Australian Government to Ms. Visalaxi, Research Scholar, Dept. Computer Science and Engineering, HITS; and Dr. T. SudalaiMuthu, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering on 16 June 2021. This is the tenth International Patent obtained by Hindustan.

About the Patent:

The Endometriosis disorder is a common reproductive disorder in women. An average of 20% women are suffering by it across the globe. The Endometriosis is a tissue like structure which usually lies at inner and outer part of the uterus. It affects parts including uterus, ovary, peritoneum, and gall bladder. The identification endometriosis at the initial stage is a challenging diagnostic due to lack of identification methods of the scanned images.

“A Convolutional Neural Network-Based Sustainable Method for Classification of Endometriosis Laparoscopic Images” invention proposes a deep learning-based endometriosis identification approach to identify the endometriosis of the scanned images. The Convolution Neural network (CNN) is used for training and prediction, and to classify whether it is endometriosis or not. The invented research work has been experimented with 4,000 scanned images and has yielded 80.02% accuracy.
