RESEARCH AND INDUSTRY SYMPOSIUM ON DATA SCIENCE AND ANALYTICS | Event Date: Thursday, 27th, October 2022

A Research and Industry Symposium on Data Science and Analytics in honour of Mr. F. C. Kohli Father of Indian Software Industry was organised on 27 October 2022 by the Department of Computer Science Engineering, HITS. The chief guest for the inauguration ceremony was Dr. P. Balasubramanian, CEO, Theme Work Analytics Pvt., Ltd., Bangalore. He briefed the delegates on the history of research symposium. The guest of honour Ms. C. G. Gayathri, Technical Project Manager, ITI Data dealt with machine learning and deep learning.The key note address was delivered by Mr. Victor Thamburaj, CEO, iPLON India Pvt. Ltd. I address, Mr. Thamburaj focused on smart energy systems and renewable energy. The special guest Mr. H.R. Mohan, Chair - Events, IEEE-CS Madras talked about various activities of IEEE-CS, CSI and ACM.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. J. Thangakumar, Head-CSE. Dr. A. Antonidoss, Department of CSE briefed on the objectives and theme of the research symposium. The special address was delivered byDr. Angelina Geetha (Dean-E&T) and the felicitation address was given by Dr. J. M. Mathana (Dean-Research).

AThe Symposium selected 20 research papers out of the 75 abstracts received. The research scholars presented their research work in domains such as Data science, Machine learning and Deep learning etc. The paper presentation was judged by Ms. Gayathri C G. The first three best papers were awarded cash prizes sponsored by IEEE-CS, ACM and CSI.
