NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY
The noble vision of the Founder-Chairman of Hindustan Institute of Technology, Late Dr. K.C.G. Verghese, “To Make Every Man a Success and No Man a Failure” is a personification of the real purpose of education. Keeping this vision in mind, HITS chisels its learners with education blended with competitive spirit to face the future with confidence. Alike all celebrations, HITS celebrated National Education Day emphasizing the importance of being educated for survival and individual progression. Dr. K. Sarukesi, Former Vice Chancellor, HITS was the Chief Guest of the event. The excerpts of Dr. Sarukesi’s address dealt with 7 essential Skills that are required for Engineers: Curiosity, Applied Creativity, Basic Mathematical Skill, Basic Mechanical Skill, Listening and Problem Solving, Interpersonal and Leadership, and Coding Skills. He stated, “Everyone has desire towards winning, but only champions have the desire to prepare for it.” Also, did Dr. Sarukesi suggest two books for students and faculty that are worth reading—Talent is Never Enough and 50 Ways to Convince Others.
