HITSAA ANNUAL ALUMNI MEET 2018 | Event Date: Saturday, 1st, December 2018



Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) in association with HITS Alumni Association (HITSAA) held the Annual Alumni Meet 2018 on 1st December 2018, Saturday at HITS.

About 300 Alumni had participated in the event. Dr. PonRamalingam, Registrar; Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. T.P. Somasundaran, Dean, PGS; Guest of Honor, Dr. E. Bhaskaran, Deputy Director, Dept. of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Tamil Nadu & President of HITSAA; and Mr. Sundararajan, Principal, HIET, Secretary of HITSAA graced the occasion.

Dr. E. Bhaskaran, President of HITSAA in his welcome address highlighted the various prestigious accreditations credited to HITS by MHRD, NAAC, NIRF& NBA etc.The charitable work undertookby Dr. KCG Verghese Charitable Foundation and the CSR activities of NSS Cell werealso briefed.Prof. Dr. T. P. Somasundaran, Dean PGS delivered the keynote address and emphasized the importance of the alumni body and the need for their constant touch with their alma mater. Mr. Sundararajan presented the various activities of HITSAA in 2018. The Silver Jubilee Celebrations of Class 1989 to 1993 were showcased and the pictures of Golden Jubilee Convergence kindled a special interest in them. Dr.S. Sathyalakshmi, Joint Secretary of HITSAA, gave the vote of thanks speech at the alumni gathering.

The vote of thanks was followed by a music concert hosted by “Prana-the Band” for honoring the alumnus. Alongside the concert, some of the prominent alumnus like Dr. Pattamatta(BE. Aero2010), Assoc. Prof., IIT Madras; Mr. Nishant Ravi(BE. Chemical 2014), Wildlife Conservationist and Mr. Ramanan(BE. Mechanical 1994) Director, CADAM shared their success stories. The annual meet winded with an informal high tea interaction between the alumnus and our faculty before.
