HITS-ACKNOWLEDGED-WITH INNOVATION BY DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY AWARD | Event Date: Friday, 7th, December 2018
Hindustan Institute of Technology received “Innovation by Deemed-to-be-University” award during the Elets 13 th World Education Summit held at Mumbai, from 7 to 8 December 2018. HITS was adjudged the best Higher Education institution for the innovative and best practices. The award was given by Dr. Ashok Agarwal, Commissioner of Intermediate Education, Govt. of Telangana, during the Awards Ceremony on 8th December. He also awarded Speaker Award to Dr. Akkara Sherine, Head Languages and Rankings, HITS for successfully participating in the Round Table discussion on “Integrating School Education and Higher Education to Develop Educational Eco System on Par with Global Standards.”
About 13 th World Education Summit
In an attempt to showcase the innovations and the best practices being followed across the global education ecosystem, Elets Technomedia Pvt Ltd organized a two-day 13 th World Education Summit (WES) at Mumbai on Friday. Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Higher Education Minister, Government of Uttarakhand, and Lahkmen Rymbui, Education Minister, Government of Meghalaya were present at the inauguration of the grand educational extravaganza. The summit observed the presence of officials from various Government departments including Meeta Rajivlochan, Principal Secretary & State Project Director, State Project Directorate – RUSA, Government of Maharashtra; Anju Sharma, Principal Secretary, Government of Gujarat, India, Prof Papi Reddy, Chairman, Telangana State Higher Education Council; Dr A Ashok, Secretary & Commissioner, Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana and Ramanan Ramanathan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) among others.
The summit was classified into School Education, Higher Education, Expo and Awards. A special issue of digital LEARNING magazine with articles and interviews focussed on latest educational trends was unveiled at the summit. The expo showcased some of the unique and effective solutions in the education sector along with offering networking and product interactions among different education stakeholders. With over 50 exhibitors, the summit witnessed the participation from many senior government officials, nearly 300 schools and approximately 200 higher education institutions who showcased their innovative methodologies for better teaching and learning. There was an insightful panel and roundtable discussions on various trends and issues related to school and higher education. Individuals, schools, higher education institutes and edu-tech corporates were honoured and encouraged under various categories for their exemplary contributions.
