The 75th Independence Day was celebrated with patriotism and passion on 15 August 2021. Group Captain T.Arunachalam, Group Commander, NCC, GP HQ Madras B was the Chief Guest. Vice Chancellor, Dr.Sridhara hoisted the national flag. Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr. R. W. Alexander Jesudasan; Registrar, Dr. Pon. Ramalingam; Directors, Deans, HODs, faculty members, students and non-teaching staff participated. Flt Lt Giri Rangarajan led the NCC cadets in making the 75th Independence Day celebrations a grand success. The event was streamed live as well.
Group Captain T. Arunachalam expressed that his team has been planning to strengthen NCC for national development, and that Hindustan University will be their valuable partner in ushering in future national development through NCC. “Our government is serious about increasing the number of NCC cadets, especially girls”, he added.He voiced that when we have more strength of NCC cadets, it is easy for us to train the youth in a disciplined development. His message resonated, “Discipline, Devotion and Determination are essential for the all-round growth”. Head - Student Affairs, Dr.A.Prabaharan explained the week-long celebrations of 75th Independence Day which included Video Making, Poetry Recitation and Quiz Competitions. He informed the audience that students of HITS have participated enthusiastically in the Rashtragana (National Anthem) singing event of the Government of India.
