About the Course
Optometry is a health care profession which examines various eye defects and offers corrective measures by providing lens, recommended eye exercises, and/or visual rehabilitation care for visually impaired, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and disorders of the visual system. It is a science of right vision care.
Optometrists are health care practitioners of the eye and visual system and make a big difference to people's lives. Their skills and knowledge help to improve vision, diagnose early and manage a range of eye conditions. The rigorous training provided by the B.Sc. Optometry course will enable students become a competent person in providing service as an Optometrist, Refractionist, Optician, and Ophthalmic Assistant to the community.
Optometry provides broader scope for the graduates to practice in Eye Hospitals. Optical establishments, job opportunities in abroad, Clinical services to Multinational dealings, Manufacturing and Distribution of Ophthalmic Lenses, Contact Lenses and Ophthalmic Instruments are some of the major scopes open for the graduates. Besides, graduates will be well-equipped with requisite skills and have greater success rate as an Entrepreneur of their own optical business.
