Code Craft – Expert Lecture and Hands-on Session on 12th January 2026

The Department of Information Technology, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), successfully organized an Expert Lecture and Hands-on Session titled “Code Craft” with the objective of enhancing students’ programming knowledge and providing practical exposure to industry-relevant coding practices. The event was conducted on 12-01-2026 atBillgates and Huffmans lab and witnessed active participation from students of the Department of Information Technology.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the Master of Ceremonies, who greeted the dignitaries, faculty members, the resource person, and the students on behalf of the Department of Information Technology. The welcome address set a positive tone for the event and emphasized the importance of industry-oriented learning.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. P. Ranjana, Professor and Head, Department of Information Technology. In her address, she highlighted the significance of expert lectures and hands-on sessions in bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations. She encouraged students to actively engage in the session and make effective use of the opportunity to enhance their technical skills.
The Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Easwar S, Team Lead, Enbott Technologies Pvt. Ltd., was formally introduced by Ms. K. Remya, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology. During the introduction, the resource person’s professional background, industry experience, and technical expertise were highlighted, underlining the relevance of the session to the students.
Following the introduction, the Chief Guest delivered an insightful address and conducted an extensive hands-on session on “Code Craft.” He explained essential programming concepts and stressed the importance of consistent coding practice for skill development. He introduced the students to the CodeChef platform and demonstrated how it can be effectively used for structured learning, practice, and technical interview preparation. Through live demonstrations, he illustrated how various programming topics can be systematically covered using the platform.The resource person presented a real-world problem and helped us solve it by reducing it to a generalized form, which was very interesting.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the hands-on activities. The resource person guided the students through practical exercises, clarified their doubts, and shared useful tips related to programming practices and interview readiness. The hands-on approach enabled students to gain real-time experience and better understanding of the concepts discussed.
An interactive discussion followed, during which students raised questions related to programming languages, coding practice strategies, and career preparation. The Chief Guest addressed the queries patiently and motivated students to develop a habit of continuous learning and problem-solving.
As a token of appreciation for his valuable contribution, a memento was presented to the Chief Guest, Mr. Easwar S, by the respected Head of the Department, Dr. P. Ranjana, in the presence of Ms. K. Remya, Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology. This gesture expressed the department’s gratitude for the resource person’s time, effort, and knowledge sharing.
The program concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. NithikaSree R, III Year, Department of Information Technology. She expressed her sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest for conducting an informative and hands-on session that greatly benefited the students. She further appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students, which contributed to the success of the program.
The event concluded on a positive note, having successfully achieved its objectives. The Code Craft session enhanced students’ understanding of programming concepts, provided practical exposure to industry-relevant tools, and motivated them to pursue structured learning and continuous skill development. Overall, the program was informative, engaging, and well received by the participants.





Code Ascend Club Inauguration Ceremony’ on 18th July 2025
The Department of Information Technology, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science in association with the Code Ascend Club commenced the ‘Code Ascend Club Inauguration Ceremony’ on 18th July 2025 at K.S. Moorthy Hall at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai. The event celebrated the official launch of the Code Ascend Club and introduced the new office bearers from HITS, marking the beginning of a dynamic year of coding initiatives and collaborative learning. MR SIDDHARTH M (Business Analyst-SCM, ACSA Technologies, Bengaluru) presided over the ceremony as the Chief Guest.



National level Hackathon competition on 30th August and 1st September 2019
Our IT department organized a two days national level Hackathon competition on 30th August and 1st September 2019. Around 360 students from different engineering colleges and universities around India participated in the competition. Mr. Amuthan, Atal Mentor for India, Mr.Ashwin, Manya the Princeton Review acted as judge and chief guest of the event and shared their knowledge
A Zonal Championship cum workshop on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking was organized on 12th and 13th August 2019. 35 students participated in this event. Mr.Radhakrishnan, Founder & CEO, WhiteHat Global Solutions, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India acted as chief guest and mentor for the event
