Apart from the hospitals, there is a large eco-system of industries within the healthcare sector that includes insurance, labs, pharma, retail etc. This has increased the demand for good quality and well-trained healthcare managers.
Further, India is also becoming an international center for medical tourism. The healthcare market is expected to grow multifold in the short run with a rapid growth being witnessed in medical tourism. Having identified the need for specially trained hospital executives and administrators.
To train young aspirants for the healthcare industry, HITS offers BBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management is a three-year undergraduate program. It was started in the year 2015 in collaboration with The Sankara Nethralaya Academy (TSNA), the academic wing of Sankara Nethralaya, the leading super speciality eye hospital based in Chennai.
This program is designed to provide healthcare professionals with specialized training in healthcare management, clinical information system management, health services administration and to understand the changes in healthcare laws, regulations and technology. The government is also trying to show that public hospitals also need to be run professionally and for that reason BBA in Hospital and Healthcare Management is getting very popular nowadays. If we look towards the market then we find that there is a wide gap between demand and supply for trained healthcare professionals in the hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and in healthcare providing organizations. So, the requirement of healthcare management is on a boom.
