About the Program

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SCIENCES

The BA Political Science program aims at providing students with a thorough grounding in the main approaches, theories and debates in Political Science. The program allows students to develop more in-depth knowledge of substantive areas within the discipline that are of interest to them. Concerned with the theory and practice of politics, description and analysis of political systems and political behavior, the BA Political Science program orientates students to develop a special acumen on state and politics while indirectly enabling them to influence the world by educating citizens and political leaders, contributing to debates on political issues, and encouraging different ways of looking at the world.

The BA Political Science program in the School of Liberal Arts and Applied Sciences is committed to delivering inspiring and challenging programs of study that allow students to develop their ideas and potential. Involving study of both national and international political systems, the courses cover a very broad area which incorporates the study of historical and modern political systems, public administration, governmental policies and procedures, international relations and public affairs. The program offers students a high level of ‘added value’ in terms of teaching quality while helping them achieve high levels of performance.
