Launchpad For Indian Motorsports Engineers (Lime)

The Motorsports Club of Automobile Engineering organized a 4-day workshop on Launchpad for Indian Motorsports Engineers (LIME) in association with the United Motorsports Academy. The workshop was between 27 - 30 October 2023 at HITS. The workshop is planned in view of the Forthcoming F4 Racing in Chennai during December 2023. Around 50 participants across the nation attended the event.

Mr Rex Keen, Race Engineer, Professor, University of Bedfordshire, England shared his rich experience on Race Engineering alongside passionate Motorsports Engineer, Mr Peter Windsor, F1 Journalist, Former Team Manager – Ferrari and Williams and Mr Willem Toet, Professor, University of Bolton, England. Ambassador Formula Student SAE UK Former Aerodynamics - Benetton and Ferrari virtually shared their insights of various aspects of Race Engineering.

The workshop provided in-depth knowledge and world class experience in the field of Power train, Driveline, Vehicle System, Vehicle Dynamics, Braking, Dampers and Suspension Systems of Race Vehicles to the Participants. Hands on Training and Exclusive Track Experience at MMRT, Chennai added value to the workshop.

Mr Shahul Hussain, 3rd Year Automobile Engineering, HITS secured the 1st Position in the Merit Exam among 100 participants in Mumbai and Chennai. Mr Shahul Hussain will be representing HITS for the Sponsored Technical Training by Racing Promotions Private Limited (RPPL) for the entire season of Indian Racing League (IRL) of F4 Championship, December 2023.
