Indian Defence and security sectors currently face some of the biggest management and technological challenges witnessed in the past decade. The threat of global terrorism and the incidence of armed conflict have created a strong requirement for those operating within a defence and security context to keep up-to-date with the latest strategic and operational development and doctrine. With this in mind, the Centre for Defence Technology Studies (CDTA) was established in the year 2012 out of an MOU Hindustan University signed with the world's largest Defence University – Cranfield University of the UK.
Highlights of the Programme
The MBA in Defence Technology Management programme is the flagship programme of the Centre for Defence Technology Studies (CDTS). The course aims at producing management professionals who will be required to work in a large growing military-Industrial Complex in the country .The course is designed to meet the requisites of all stakeholders viz: Armed forces, Research and Development, Public and private sector defence industries
All courses at the CDTS are developed out of content provided by Industry professionals .The courses are structured for modular delivery for ease of assimilation. Course content has been derived from some of the leading Academic institutions in the field of Defence Technology.
The centre collaborates with Cranfield University UK, Selex Galileo UK, MBDA UK and other centres of excellence in France. Most of the courses offer a high amount of industry orientation thereby facilitating easier placements.
Courses are catering to requirements of a new and nascent field of Defence Technology in India. Courses would be handled by experts in the respective fields in India and abroad.
The teaching at the Centre is designed to satisfy this requirement through the unique combination of military, civilian and academic streams.

An overview of Weapon Systems evaluation and performance assessment as well as familiarization of Armored Fighting Vehicles, Naval Platforms and Airborne platforms is also provided in the third semester of the course followed by an industry oriented project.
The Programme prepares the course taker to take up key functional roles in the burgeoning Indian Defence industry in areas of Defence production, Defence Procurement, Defence Acquisition, Internal Security Management and specialised areas of Cyber Security.
The course also equips professionals to take up challenging and leadership opportunities in the Private /public sector Defence Industries and their Ancilliary Units. Officers completing the course leave with an ability to apply their technical understanding to solve complex problems in the Defence domain, in terms of operations, equipment capability, acquisition and management in the Defence business.
