Hindustan University organized International Seminar on Space Odyssey-II (ISSO-II) on 19th July 2017 along with inauguration of Nebula Astro Club. Russian Cosmonaut Mr.MikhailKornienko who spent 560 days in space was the invited speaker of the seminar. Mr.MikhailKornienko worked as flight engineer at International Space Station (ISS) for more than a year.

The seminar started at 11.00 A.M with welcome address by Mr.C.S.Karunakaran, Assistant Professor, Hindustan University. Mr.AshokVerghese Director of Hindustan University gave the presidential addreaa. Mr.AshokVerghese denoted the Hyperloop project carried out in Los Angeles, C.A, USA and he added the sponsorship of Hindustan Group of Institution for the project. He shared that the inaugural of “Nebula Astro Club” at Hindustan University will pave an insight to space research for Indian Students.Dr.DilipA Shah, Head – School of Aeronautical Sciences introduced the Russian Cosmonaut and briefed about his achievements. Later Mr.MikhailKornienko interacted with the students continued by his lecture. He spoke in Russian and it was translated to the gathering. Students asked the questions related to human settlement over the other planets. Russian Cosmonaut was very happy to share his views & experience with the gathering. One enthusiast asked about ageing difference in space as per the Interstellar movie for that the cosmonaut answered it happens only in movies. Then the cosmonaut inaugurated the “Nebula Astro Club”. Dr.S.Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, Hindustan University gave away the vote of thanks to the gathering.

The University has also arranged a mobile planetarium & telescope to feed students curiosity. This seminar was the second version of International seminar on Space Odyssey, happened in February 2017 in which NASA representatives& international TEDx speakers participated
