HITSATHON V1.0

Center for Networking and Cyber Defense, School of Computing Sciences, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, in association with Institute of Engineering and Technology, iMorph Inc, Vuedata, Skillenza, Flytta, Freeing India, Elite Gamer Lounge and Internshala organized a National level Hackathon on the name HITSATHON V1.0 on the 4th and 5th of August 2017. A hackathon is an event, typically lasting several days, in which a large number of people meet to engage in collaborative computer programming to produce several usable software and hardware products beneficial to the society.

The event started at 10.00 A.M on the 4th of August with a welcome address by Dr. Rajeswari Mukesh, Head of the School of Computing Sciences, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. The presidential address was delivered by Dr.S.Ramachandran, Vice Chancellor, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. The Special Address was delivered by Dr. N. Vasudevan, Dean Academics, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. Mr.S.K.Shankar, Assistant Professor, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science spoke about the rules and regulations of the contest along with a summary of what amenities the teams can make use of over the two days of the hackathon. Around 500 students from 35 colleges all over India have participated in the event.

The hakathon was kick started with a tech talk on IoT by Mr. Dorai Thodla from iMorph Inc. to an audience consisting of all the participants of the hackathon and the IET Student members. Followed by this, the one day timer was started and the participants began to get to work..

ABOUT CNCD Centre for Networking and Cyber Defense (CNCD) at Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) was established in the year April 2013 with an aim to carry out research and impart knowledge in Networking and Cyber Security. This Centre has been formed with domain expertise from HITS, HTC-ITMR, IBM and D-Link. The Centre organizes workshops, guest lectures, seminars and conferences on the cyber security theme every academic year. The Centre is also involved in doing community outreach programs to create awareness about cyber security.
