“Tree for Life” is a great concept that is emerging to better the environment. “Re-Green Chennai” is an initiative to create awareness and to restore the flora lost in Chennai during Cyclone ‘Vardha’. This coveted movement has won the attention of the Harley Davidson Super bikers Club” and as a promotional drive, a team of likeminded volunteers held a “Motorcycle Rally on their hi-tech bikes of various reputed global brands, from the sands of Eliots Beach in Besant Nagar and along the East coast road, culminating at the picturesque & sprawling green campus of Hindustan University along OMR at Padur.

Conception: Aim of the Rally is to create awareness among the youth in particular & public at large to focus on the necessity for planting more & more saplings to restore the lost green cover of Chennai.This noble venture got the ready support of Hindustan University, as the Hindustan Group of Institutions is celebrating their Golden Jubilee this Season. Further they are committed to keep the environment “evergreen”. The event was held on a pleasant Sunday morning of 16 July 2017 and it received a rousing welcome in Hindustan University, Bay range campus by hundreds of staff & students.

Re-Green Chennai champions on wheels, witnessed a short & interesting cultural fiesta prior to embarking on plantation of saplings in the specially prepared sites in front of the newly built Jupiter Hostel. This unique initiative by the Super Bikers to preserve, protect & promote environment won the hearts & minds of hundreds of youth, who also participated in this memorable event with pride.The contribution by Harley Davidson Super Bikers Club towards, “Re-Green Chennai” is an admirable act which will remain green in the memory of the youth of Hindustan University & motivate them to spread this message & culture to others & enrich our environment.
